ALM / Performance Center 12 – ALM Web Client

The new ALM Web Client introduced in version 12 is built on “HTML5/JavaScript” technology and was leveraged to redesign the Requirements and Defects Management modules. This client is available for all HP ALM installations including all Performance Center installations.
Cross Browser / Operating Systems
It is now possible to access these modules using Chrome, Firefox, Safari as well as Internet Explorer ( 7,8,9, and 10). This opens the door for Linux and Mac users, plus gives Windows users an alternative if unsupported Read Entire Entry -
HP ALM 11.52 Patch 1 Released

HP ALM 11.52 Patch 1 (TD4QC_00350, TD4QC_00351, TD4QC_00349 and TD4QC_00348), which applies to HP ALM 11.52, was released on 08/15/13. This patch is a non-critical patch which includes new features, updates to existing features and addresses known defects and performance issues in version 11.52.

HP ALM Service Pack 11.52 (TD4QC_00333, TD4QC_00334, TD4QC_00332 and TD4QC_00331), which applies to HP ALM 11.50, was released on 05/13/13. This service pack is a non-critical patch which includes updates to existing features and addresses known defects and performance issues in version 11.50. It also includes new features and product enhancements.

ALM 11.5 Installation – Step by Step, Single Server Deployment

During HP Discover, HP announced on June 5th, 2012 the official release of HP ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) 11.5 (formerly known as Quality Center). I am going to outline the new installation process for a single server deployment on a Windows 2008 64-bit server. This guide assumes that all prerequisites have been met and MS SQL Server 2008 R2 (or another supported database server) has been installed or is readily available.

ALM Workflow: Always Trigger Bug_New when “New Defect” is Clicked

One “feature” in HP’s Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Quality Center relating to the Defects module is the ability to add multiple defects without ever closing the “New Defect” window, and to resume populating a new defect after the “Close” button is clicked. When the user clicks the “Close” button and then “New Defect”, the field values are cached. This can be a great time saver; however, it is not without its unintended consequences.
